Abstract
Since each organization’s human resource is considered as their most valuable capital and it is also believed that each organization’s human resource is potentially their only sustainable competitive advantage, the matter of employees’ intention to leave is one of the realities of the contemporary life. In fact, the high rate of such an intention must be viewed as a problem which should be managed. As the main capital of the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company, the elites’ intention to leave and the cost imposed on the company due to their leaving have resulted in the formation of this research. The main purpose of the present research is to recognize and prioritize the main factors affecting the elites’ intention to leave and also propose solutions in order to remove such a problem in this company. The present research is an applied research in terms of its purpose and a descriptive survey in terms of its data collection method. This research’s questionnaire was formulated regarding the research literature and based on the elites’ opinions; its reliability was obtained as 0.81 using Cronbach’s alpha. The population of this study was made up of the managers of this company (Tehran) from which 90 members, , were selected as the sample group. Using T-Student test, the results of this research demonstrated that occupational, organizational, and personal factors affected the elites’ voluntary intention to leave; however, their levels of influence were not the same. Regarding rating such factors, it was realized that obtaining the mean of 2.25, the occupational factors were placed first; then, the organizational and personal factors were the second and the third factors, respectively, obtaining the means of 2.17, and 1.57.
